How To Do Situps Without Hurting The Sciatic Nerve?

I have been in great dicomfort with my sciatic nerve but would also like to do situps to get rid of my stomach any suggestions?

    crunches keep your back flat point knees to the sky and only come up when in motion only a 1/4 of the way with your hand behind your head do not rock or try for that last one if you have to rock your hurting your self

    don’t do sit ups. No really, they won’t help you get rid of your stomach. You need cardio for that. Like running or aerobics.
