Sciatic Nerve Pain Blog

My husband has been having problems with his sciatic nerve and has been going for treatment and acupuncture. He keeps developing a pain in his groin that stems from the sciatic region. Could it cause erectile dysfunction?

I was having lower back pains and now I am getting a tight spasm through the right buttocks and someone told me that it could be my Sciatic nerve being pinched, so I wanted to see what stretches I can do to relieve the pain.

I have been experiencing strong and consistent back pain for as long as I can remember (I am 25 now). It starts with a little discomfort in my lower back, and about 20 minutes later, if I don’t take pain medication, my joints will start to ache on one side (my hip, my knee, my ankle). X-rays show some minor scoliosis and a compressed disc (L4 and L5). So far, orthopedic surgeons are reluctant to do anything or even take me seriously because I’m “not old enough to be in a lot of pain.”
My question is, could this be something more than a compressed disc? I’ve heard mention of sciatica but I have no idea what that is. I can usually catch it before it gets too bad, but it takes about 4 pills a day (Excedrin, Advil, etc) and I don’t think that’s a good long term answer.
And, one last question – what can I say to the doctor to get him to take me seriously?

For a good portion of the week, I have been sitting on the floor with my back propped up with pillows. It’s been putting a great deal of pressure on my tailbone and lower back. Could this cause sciatic nerve damage? The bottom of my right foot has been buzzing.

I hurt my lower back while trying to lift someone up. Now I have sciatic pain on the back of my leg. If I stand too long or sitting on a soft chair it’ll have this sharp pain. What kind of exercise can I do to lower the pain? Willl yoga help?

I am 20 years old and I am suffering sciatica I don’t have insurance ,so i would like to know how much does it cost?

My sciatic nerve has been a problem since I was in a car accident over four years ago. I have been to the hospital and to doctor’s, but their solution is pain medication that makes me feel out of it. Are there any home remedies out there? I could really use it- especially today!

I have had 2 pregnancies, resulting in 3 children. I had sciatic pain during pregnancy and it disappeared postpartum, but it flares up frequently. Is there anything I can do to help these flare-ups? I am about to die! It is very difficult to take care of my 5 year old and 14 month old twins. Meds don’t seem to work. Any exercises or stretches that anyone knows of?

I’m getting ready to get an MRI and my sciatica is just getting worse and worse. I’ve been to two chiropractors and have been taking pain meds and using ice and laying my right side (it’s down my left leg). Anyone able to cure it?

Is there a cure for the pain on my lower back? When i run my right leg becomes numb. I know it has to do with my sciatic nerve. What should i do?
